I bought this bed frame because I had just bought a king size mattress. I wanted the platform bed frame as green as possible
(meaning no in my bed frame), one I could assemble myself, had the appropriate slats recommended for my mattress and add my own homemade headboard to the frame. This was advertised as SOLID WOOD. This bed frame is NOT solid wood at all. It isnt real sturdy so if you are very active in bed, I definitely would not suggest this bed frame. It was easy to assemble by myself. It looks nice and so far has held up. I do not expect it to be a long term bed frame or a heirloom.
Solid in use yet very portable and wont take up much storage space in its folded form during those times when the bed frame is not in use. My only minor gripe is that if you use a light box spring or mattress on the platform, these items tend to shift around because there is no raised perimeter edging around the outside of the platform frame to keep those items in place. Im thinking of adhering several strips of some type of thin rubberized material to the top of the platforms support slats which I hope will resolve that issue.
We wanted a queen bed frame for my sons apartment but needed something that would fit up three floors of very narrow stairs. This frame comes completely broken down but assembles quickly. It definitely helps to have two people and to watch the various assembly videos available on YouTube as theres at least one apparently pretty common mistake people make that can cause instability. We took our time, and the frame seemed extremely sturdy once we were done.
Great value for the price--would definitely buy another if we ever had the need.
Love the wood and the stain ! Very sturdy except the slats across could be a little stronger but itll do ! Everything else is the heavy wood construction ! I am very pleased with this purchase , looks very high quality ?
