While it is beautiful and seems well-made, I purchased this bed because it is listed as having a non-toxic finish. Yet it has strong fumes to the point of giving me headaches and makes me sneeze. I have to cover the head board with a triple-folded sheet to subdue the fumes so I can sleep. I paid to have it assembled and didnt notice the fumes until I went into my room at night. Disassembling this and returning it will be huge pain, as it is quite heavy. If I end up keeping it, hope I dont get cancer from it
Ive had this bed for a little over a year. Its been pretty sturdy and solid. It wasnt hard to assemble, either (but two people may be best). The other day I noticed one of the side boards was cracked (anything could have happened, but Im betting on my nieces who enjoy jumping on our bed when they visit). I reached out to to see how I can go about ordering the replacement piece. After verifying my order and sending them a pic of the crack, they didnt hesitate to send out a replacement, free of charge. And they responded quickly. Id definitely purchase from this company again. suit for my house!
Im a handyman and built this bed for my customer. The number of boxes, quantity of pieces, parts, and instructions can easily be overwhelming at first. With that being said, here is some info you should find useful. The majority of the bed can be assembled by 1 person. However, two can easily work on it at the same time and youll need at least two to load the assembled top bunk onto the bottom. Pay attention to the parts list and make sure you are using the correct parts each step of the way. The instructions have clear, accurate size pictures of each part. I highly recommend using power tools, when possible, for screws and parts requiring the allen wrench. You can buy an allen wrench adapter for a socket wrench at Home Depot for a few bucks. I had help assembling for the majority of the time and we still spent over 10 hours on it. We did make a few mistakes along the way. I think two could put this bed together in less than 8 hours with the proper tools to make the job more efficient and being comfortable with furniture assembly. Hope this helps! loveeee it!
I saw a lot of reviews that said the sides broke. I have had mine a few weeks now and it seems like its holding up. We dont have kids jumping into it, and we are not flopping onto it, so idk if that is an issue for others. We took the chance on it because its got a low profile and our king bed is a little big for our room. Ill update this if it breaks lol my cat love it too, haha
You will want to put the screws in loosely at first because when the frame is together and you add the slats you will have to take some screws out, add the slats and then screw back or it doesnt all work. Great bed but putting together requires a little understanding of how this stuff works and patience to back up and take something apart to make something else fit. Once it is together it is super sturdy and perfect! Great buy! very pretty bed and good quality. good gift!
Very strong and sturdy bunk bed. I believe some of the pieces are press board so not 100 percent all wood. Instructions is understandable, not to complicated. Some of the wrong pieces was delivered. I email seller directly I did not hesitate to mail out the correct pieces right away and not to worry about sending back the incorrect pieces. Def need 2-3 people to put together. Took me a couple of days! i like it
I was looking for a bed with thick legs. My husband is a big guy. I love using tools and getting my hands dirty so I picked this one. Its a hobby, not just a bed. Nice raw wood. The possibilities were endless. In the end I chose to scorch the wood with a torch. Gently brushing the tip of the flame across the wood. It lightly burns the wood causing the grooves and details in the wood to stand out. After completed I bought $10 gloss spray canisters of clear sealant to coat the bed. Not only does it give it a shine, it makes the wood smooth to prevent slivers, and seals the wood so that the soot wont run off or be breathed in. The only downside I found is that the headboard is so low. I need to have a box spring so pretty sure it wont even be visible once I finish putting it together. Other then that, happy with the purchase. great color!
