Arrived early, it took me about 5hrs (did it late at night and had to keep quiet for the surprise) but because I did it by myself. Its very easy to assemble. My daughter loved her new big girl bed! I decided to add a little extra with the lights now I dont want to leaver her room lol
Read all the reviews and decided to get this for my 4 years old who is sharing a room with his sister. A regular bunk bed would be too tall for him to go up and down by himself and his sister did not want a bunk bed, so this was definitely a happy medium. My dad put it together, didn't take longer than anything else you would have to build, in my opinion. The only reason I took off a star is because 2 of the top screws would not line up and therefore we were not able to screw them in. It's two opposite sides diagonally, so, you really can't tell support wise. We also added the bed support because the mattress we had was thicker than the recommended height, and it worked out perfect. My son loves it, all of his toys are stored under it which frees up a lot of space since space is limited. He has been co-sleeping with me and my husband since birth until we got him this bed, he'sbeen sleeping in it every since! It's been a godsend!
I bought this as a unit for my 4 year old. I wanted something off the ground but traditional bunks were too high for my kids being so young. When this arrived, it took me about an entire day by myself to put together, and with my husband about the same. not for lack of intelligence, but because SO Many PIECES! I read the reviews that all seeme to have this thmee and figured that it was a lack of planning but no. there are just an absurd about of pieces... and I build a lot of projects. … Many of these time consuming pieces could have been doen in the factory, which would make this pieces far more sturdy.
THe middle strip is actually many plastic hooks, and the material grade wood is a bit cheap. I work with horses and I can see how these could bend given enough jumping from kids ro the wrong leverage that a child would undoubtedly do at some point. I kept it because, for now, my kids are too little I hope ,to have any negative influence on these factors. If you have rowdy kids, be cautious. If they are older and not using this as a forte or a piata or zoo, they it'll probably be fine.
I have bought 2 of these beds in the past. Takes some time to assemble but its a cool bed. The slider drawer isnt that great, it has to be perfectly level to slide easily. My kids dont really use the storage. I tighten the bolts about once a year for maintenance. One of the beds had a little rust on them but it wasnt too big of a deal.

There are a lot of little pieces of hardware for the stairs but it's not too bad. The directions were easy to read and everything was labeled well. It's very sturdy. She enjoys playing underneath it.
My 4 yo was really excited for his new bed. But the assembly of this bed definitely will take some time. Instructions included with are pretty easy but it's a lot of parts to put together. I do recommend this bed!
I am absolutely in tears after trying to put two of these together over the weekend. My hands are bleeding. My daughter and I are no longer friends. This is a DEVASTATING PURCHASE. An absolute night mare to put together. Just completely beside myself.

A Godsend

Save yourself the hassle. These gave me an emotional break down.

Absolutely great for my 6 year old. She loves it! Easy to follow instructions and seems very stable. Ill probably buy another for my 3 year old soon.
