I like the color and finish of the wood. However the drill holes are not placed evenly so the slats do not run in a straight line. Also the final slat drill holes before the footboard are placed too close to the preceding slat so the footboard cannot even be put into place.
I absolutely loved the frame! It came in quicker than I expected even through covid times. I set it up without any problems or hiccups. I really love that you can adjust the height of the bed. You pretty much have 3 heights you can do. It feels sturdy. Ive had it for about half a year now and no problems. Completely recommended
You CANNOT return this bedframe for a full refund of your purchase. If you return it then you will be charged a 50% restocking fee and the return shipping fee to send it back, PLUS the prior international shipping fee to ship it from Japan, which the seller informed is $150 or more. The return policy here is misleading as returning this item will likely cost you more than the purchasing price. Once youve bought this youre basically stuck with it.
However, I will say the bedframe shipped to me was decently made and relatively comfortable. Moving it is very challenging as you cant pick it up like a normal bed frame or it will bend and bow in the center and possibly break. The instructions are entirely in Japanese and there is no English translation provided but its so simple to assemble that you can get by with Google Translate or just looking at the pictures. There are also rough edges that may need sanding but nothing drastic.
Overall, my issue is with the company and not the product itself, but there are still improvements that can be made on both for complete customer satisfaction.

The oversized slats with small gaps make this the only non-solid base platform bed you can use for a shikibuton. Im 290 lbs and its no problem for this frame. To my surprise this actually shipped out of Okinawa -such a difference with made in Japan products. 5 stars all the way!
I love it! It is comfortable to sleep on with my futon. It was easy to construct and feels sturdy. The attention to detail with regards to the packaging is appreciated. The customer service is also very great!
I was really excited to buy this bed until I put it together there is 4 major scratches on the wood in noticeable places and the person who drilled the wholes to screw the planks in didnt screwed them in straight so half of the bed is zigzagging. I wont buy from this seller again.
Easy to put together looks beautiful. Keep in mind that the instructions are not in english, so pay attention to images. Its a very simple design, so I found it easy to do. Took maybe 30min.
We ordered 2 of the natural solid pine wood. Both came packed tightly and neatly with a thin foam around each piece. The outside of the package was also wrapped in bubble wrap to make the journey safely. So far so good as every piece was in perfect condition. We havent yet started assembly and it looks straight forward, but understand you will need to follow the pictures and symbols as the text was in what we believe is Japanese. We already give this 5 stars for the quality of the wood and finish and how quickly it arrived passing through customs!
I am really pleased with the beautiful bed frame. Slept well last night although the slats are hard - as I expected and hoped . I bought this bed frame for my Japanese Shikifuton and am so happy I did. I looked everywhere for a suitable frame and this one is really the best option! The only one recommendation would be making the English instructions available ( they arent online as promised) . The bed is solid but one needs to realize that lifting it from the short ends will cause it to crack. It has to be lifted from the long ends with two people due to construction setup. Would recommend this product if you sleep with a Japanese futon!!!
