Made very nice and so far seems very sturdy. My son loves it. The ladder seems a tad steep and the steps are slippery when wearing socks. We may look for grips to put on them.
I honestly wasnt expecting it to be so nice. This was going to be a stand in since the one we wanted wasnt going to be available for a while and now we arent even buying the other one. Very impressed. I never give reviews but this one deserved one. She loves her first bed! Thank you!
Easy to assemble and the bed is sturdy. I added a 1/2 sheet of plywood on top of the wooden planks used to support the mattress. With that we could use a foam mattress instead of a box spring.
My young teen daughter LOVES this bed! Fits her regular twin mattress. Seems sturdy, however my daughter is slim and petite. Shelves came with some minor damage, but fortunately doesnt show. Only option to replace was to send the entire bed back, and that was def not going to happen, so were just dealing with it. Not quite as tall as a regular loft, which leaves more headspace.
This is a very nice loft bed. It was easy to assemble but needs two people. The wood is good and have no concerns of it falling apart or collapsing. I was looking for something that would hold an adult and child. This was it with a 400 lb limit. It eases my mind that it wont come crashing down if we climbed up with our kid. It does shake a little when you move while on it but is expected with a loft bed as its not anchored to the wall nor does it need to be. The shelves are nice and provides added storage. You can put the shelves and ladder on either side but you have to decide that when youre building it. We have the ladder on the left and the shelves on the right. You can put the ladder and shelves on the same side if you wanted it that way. We initially bought a twin mattress that was too thick. We ended up returning and getting an 8 mattress. I would not recommend anything more than 8. Overall, we are happy with the purchase.
Maybe if the screws were labeled somehow for a smoother build and watch out for the stickers be accidentally put on incorrect parts but overall its worth it.
My wife and I were looking for a loft bed to make some more play space in my 3.5yr old sons bedroom. Its a fairly small room and we wanted more room for him to spread out his toys and things on the floor. He loves the new bed and spends quite a bit of time up on the bed part with his books as he does down below playing. We didnt think of how much he would like spending time in the bed part.
Assembly was fairly straight forward and the instructions are complete. The worst part of assembly is putting together the long side of the upper rails. Since there arent separate fasteners, they have to be slid in at the same time as the end panels go on. Definitely requires two people.
When assembled as delivered, the bed is fairly sturdy. Its not too tall, so it would probably be livable. I decided to make a couple of improvements for its long/term use and peace of mind. The first was that I added 6 more slats to the part that supports the mattress. We are using a 5 thick foam mattress from IKEA and it just seemed too soft in places. With three 1x3s eight feet long, I cut six more slats at 39 and screwed them down just like the others. The next improvement was to use some self/tapping sheet metal screws to join the slats to the steel beam down the center. This made a huge difference in the rigidity of the bed. Finally, I added two anti/tip furniture straps to tie it to the wall.
Overall, I would say that this was a winner. I was hesitant to buy something instead of building it myself, but I think that in this case it was a success. With a couple of inexpensive improvements it became exactly what we needed.
It took me about 3 hours to put together. The bed frame came shipped with very li damage. However it did come in one very heavy box. Wish it was in two boxes (Im sure the UPS driver would appreciate too). Every wooden piece was identified with a number, so it wasnt that difficult to figure out what went where. Just make sure you give yourself time to put together without distractions.
I do wish the ladder was a bit wider, the bed is for a 13 year old boy, and while he is not tall, he is of normal width. Bed should hold up to his use until he gets tired of it, or moves out for college, which ever is first.

Holds the weight!
