First, my order came right on time! Second, my order was correct, it came in 1 big box so no hassle. The bed is great now that it is put together. My only issue, and not really an issue, was that it took about 2 hours to put it all together, and there are these little safety snaps that have to go in each hole, well... my fingers hurt pretty bad after doing them all, but it is definitely worth it. I am very happy with the entire purchase and glad I did it. It is sturdy and serves my purpose. My girls love it!
This is a sturdy, fairly easy to assemble trundle bed. Works great! Rolls easily and isnt too high. The only thing that kept me from giving it 5 stars were some plastic secure pins which were a bit hard to push in. You need some strong fingers for help.
It was pretty easy to set up alone, although it does take a while if you dont have assistance. Getting the bottom bar holders to stay in is a bit of a challenge so make sure you have pliers/wrenches of some sort to help squeeze them in. Theres a lot and your fingers WILL get tired!
Seems sturdy. I have the 16 y/o on the bottom and the 9 y/o on top and no one has come crashing through. My 16 y/o likes the extra space between the bottom and top bunk this time. No more hitting his head when he sits up!!
I personally am not a fan of the metal (metal looks like a prison bed, but they wanted metal and hopefully this will last a little longer than the wood one we had before.
Arrived on time , well packaged , moderately easy to assemble even for a novice, sturdy and handsome . When the foundation of the mattresses are assembled they are secured with tiny plastic inserts which I could not get into each slot , requiring the weight of the mattresses to do the work. Otherwise, perfect .
The box arrived torn to smitherines. UPS guy was holding some of the rungs when he delivered it. Weak cardboard and poor packaging. I was missing 1 rung but figured it would take a month of sundays to get it so I put the bed together as is and the end with the missing rung is the end thats up against the wall.
Specs says it holds 250lbs... it bows when my 115lb granddaughter gets on it. Im not so impressed with this bed. I have to get a sheet of plywood to put under the mattress so that I feel that my granddaughter will be safe and secure when shes in the bed.
Someday ill remember You get what you pay for. In this case, $149 was cheap and so is the bed.
Would I recommend this bed or the company that makes it to a friend? HECK NO!
Plan on at least three hours to build this bed. The instructions are fairly clear, but take a moment to make sure the screw holes line up or else youre bound to unscrew components that you previously assembled. There is a part where you have to put together the mattress support for the top bunk. The instructions make it seem painless and simple. I recommend using a hammer to insert these plastic snaps and even then it still is an incredibily long process and painful if you start using your hands. With all that being said...the bed is extremely comfortable and sturdy. A 200 lb guy slept in the top bunk and there were no scary moments. Good buy if you have time and a friend to help you build.
Its sturdy and fits nicely in a small space.
However, assembly is killer. Some of the pieces take some real work to put in place. I did it all by myself, so I guess that made it more tedious. It also shows that one person can put it together by themselves, even if it takes hours. Once its assembled though, you know youre safe. Besides, hopefully, youll only be needing to assemble it once, right?
Item needs two people to put together. It is very comfortable. I bought a foam mattress online for $130 and it is perfect with it (no solid hard base was needed. It does squeak and wobble but once you are laying down, its not so bad. I think more mounting connections are needed and maybe some WD40. For the price, you get good sleep, it looks nice, and you can fit a desk underneath.
Im really pleased with this bunk bed! I read all the horror stories posted on here about how difficult it was to put together. To be honest, it was real simple, and the directions are easy to follow! I expected it to be a lot of parts, considering its a bunk bed! The days when I used to play with Legos came in real handy (insert bolt here, put washer on bolt wow! Thanks ! Excellent product and great value! Couldnt ask for more! Maybe if you can get a Miller Lite babe to come over and build it for me next time it might get six stars!
I just received this; directions look relatively clear but please be aware that EVERY SINGLE PIECE of this frame has to be put together separately. There are 14 small bolts and washers, 8 large bolts and washers, and 42 plastic tab locks that must be screwed or otherwise inserted into the frame. The mattress supports have to be laid out and each attached separately. Other reviews say that its easy, but it is definitely going to take some time.
