My 12 and 13 yr old sons put this bed together themselves in about 2 hours. Directions were detailed and simple. Its very sturdy and well built. The ladder has circular rungs which are not suitable for adults but seems fine for younger feet.
If youre never put a bunk bed together before be prepared these things do take some time. There are a lot of pieces but in this case everything fits together well theres no misaligned holes or missing pieces, they even include the needed allen wrench. Overall, Im really impressed with the design. I wish our other set of bunk beds had a ladder that was built into the top bunk instead of extending out since it saves so much room and is much more secure this way. Theres a lot of great room in this bunk bed which would make it ideal for a guest room or the kids who share a room. Were really pleased with it.
If you are anything like my husband, the building of this will entail much complaining and cursing. Otherwise, my daughter is thrilled to have the extra bunk to store all of her plushes and have a spot to hide out and read away from her siblings.

This bed surprised me on the quality as I was putting it together. Its solid wood, and the dowels, and other hardware are very nice. Nice and thick dowels, and long screws. It should last us a while. You do need to air out the bed after setting it up for a while. It does have a paint/chemical smell for a few hours, but it was gone quickly. My wife and I love the fact that this bed can be two separate beds, or work as a bunk bed. Thats one of the main reasons we got it. The twin bed alone does stand higher up than a typical twin mattress frame, but its not anything we cant work around.
Love this bed! It did come in a lot of pieces but the instructions were easy to read and it went together pretty quick. So happy with how it turned out! My daughter loves it!

My concern after owning for a few months is that the wood in some areas is cracking and sleeping on the bottom bed can seem a bit scary because with any movement from the above, the bed shakes as if its going to crack and collapse on top of you.
3.5 stars. Love the simple design. But it took forever to build. Another thing I am not satisfied with are the circular steps for the ladder. It hurts using bare feet to get to the top bunk. Its fine for my 40/pound 5/year/old but my older child refuses to go on top because of the pain. Flat steps would be ideal. I chose this bunk bed because I like that the ladder is connected to the bottom bunk and doesnt rest on the floor.
Soooo many pieces to put together, but the end result is a fantastic bunk bed! Sturdy, neat and the metal doesnt squeak. The plastic pieces were a pain, but everything else was fairly simple. Took me about 2 hours to unbox and put together.
