    little kids

Not easy to put together / just over a year old / granddaughter 9 yrs old outgrew it so not for kids over 8. Closet door does not work on carpeted bedroom floors/ drags and first time use cracked. Hard to make bed for little kids much less adults trying as it is not made for adults to be on. Just ok

Great but assembly was rough Worth it!!!

    Good product crappy instructions

Instructions are not the easiest to decipher. I ordered two of these beds only one delivered to me but the company did refund my money fairly quickly. Simple and easy to put together.

Beautiful Bed! Takes time to build!

Alright. here goes. I bought this bed for my 5 year old daughter. As soon as we saw the picture we loved it. This Loft bed/dresser/closet/desk/6 separate shelves monstrosity WITH and a hideaway. sold. I read so man reviews and I am sooooo happy I did. My highlights and lowlights of putting it together. Hopefully it helps you through it, too. 1. Get rid of the kids for the day, if you can, and eat a hardy breakfast because youre in this for the long haul. I love building furniture from boxes (seriously, its a weird hobby) and it took my husband and I 6 hours with no breaks. Also, I dont know how anyone built this alone with kids present. I pat your back and give you hugs. I wouldve quit after step 8 if I didnt have my husband helping. If you have someone to help, ask them. Youll be happy you did. 2. The bed comes in 3 huge boxes. We somehow got ours into the garage and that is where they stayed. You HAVE to assemble 1 box at a time. DO NOT OPEN ALL 3. Find box 1 with the instructions and hardware and bring the contents wherever you are building. When you finish with box 1 in the instructions THEN and only then open box 2. No joke there are 1025700374 pieces and they are barely marked. Dont make this harder for yourself by thinking you can handle multiple boxes at a time. You cant. 3. SORT THE HARDWARE! Some brilliant person mentioned sorting the hardware into bowls marked with post/its before starting. DO IT. It took about 30 minutes to go through it all but those bags of hardware are for the entire thing not just box 1 and many look very similar. That 30 minute prep saved us soo much time. We sorted and checked off everything including the bed frame pieces before starting so we knew where everything was. 4. Go slow and double check instructions multiple times before tightening those screws. The directions suck. Typical vague pictures with tiny unmarked dots and arrows pointing to holes you cant see. I mean. awful. Check, check and triple check. 5. This thing weighs a ton and a half so build it exactly where its going. Not in the middle of the room or downstairs. Im talking inches from its home. We were 6 inches from the wall it was going against and my everything still hurts from budging it. 6. Have fun music playing or something to keep you calm. Tensions ran high for a second there. it was touch and go. We had our favorite Playlist on and it really did help. 7. This is built with only a screwdriver, Allen wrench and a hammer. ((We used a ratchet screwdriver and it saved my wrist, highly recommended)) It says dont use a drill and we listened but the ladder spindles had us charging the drill real quick. The spindles are solid cylinders without the pre drilled holes. The screws they instructed we use stopped screwing in half way through. We were stuck. so we dug into our drawer of extra screws and found wood screws slightly smaller than the ones recommended. I dont know if that was the best solution or the right choice but we did what needed to be done. I always say listen to the instructions but if I trusted myself enough with a drill and didnt think Id split the wood; I 100 would have installed the the spindles, pre/drilled my own holes in the spindles once I knew where the screws would go and made my life much easier. To the manufacturers I would say. try and make the instructions more clear. The diagrams arent as self explanatory as you may think. Small steps written with the pictures would have helped tremendously for those spots where the picture isnt conclusive. Im talking about you random piece of wood by desk. I hope I put you in the right spot. Okay, thats all I have to say, I think. We did it. Minimal damage to my body, spirit and will to live. The bed it beautiful and my daughter is over the moon. Worth it. Good Luck! Thank you so much.

Go slow when building, and youll get good results

Finished product is quite solid for a teenager. Drawers are okay, closet area is OK, not huge, and right half door opens up into a hidey/hole area under about half the bed that any kid less than 15 or so will find a great hide away location. Ladder going up isnt great, with round steps rather than flat, so suggest you park a chair in front of the stairs so yoir kid wont hurt their feet. Desk around the side is cute, but the drawer opens in a strange way that is not helpful and to close it abain you have to carefully click 2 tabs on either sode, very poorly designed. The instructions are fairly good. It is vitally impt you follow them SLOWLY and each step think carefully about which little piece goes where. many pages have diagrams that are confusing if you dont follow VERRRY carefully which screw goes into which hole, or which orientation the board goes in, etc etc. Easy to screw up. In a couple of places for the brackets that hold up the mattress bars you need to kmake your own hole for the screw, or whack the melamine with a screwdriver to start a screwhole. Not too hard. Screwing the steps in proved impossible their screws kept breaking. I used my own wood screws in the end. A few other glitches in the instructions ear the end. Mine arrived in 3 boxes, very carefully fit together. Be sure you open one box at a time. Do not discard anything, it might be important, e.g. the cheap cardvoard backing of the closet and drawers (I added a layer of my own.) Very easy to mix up right and left versions, look carefully for marks and labels, and compare what you are doing with the manual often. Very easy to confuse the little bits and pieces. screws, locks, pegs, etc. Overall it took me about 5 days working betwen 1/2 hour and 2 hours per day. Be aware that you cannot install this in a tiny area against a wall, you need to build it a foot or two away from a wall, and only then when it is done do you move it against 2 walls into the corner. Overall I am very very glad I built it. If your kid helps, give them a dozen little bowls and have them keep track of all the pegs and screws and bolts and things. theres lots to do there. Very functional.

    Meh

Overall, Im satisfied with this product, and my 6 year old loves it so thats a big win. However, a lot of the pieces came damaged. Kudos to for quickly replacing them, but I still had to spend extra time to deal with that, and have to figure out what to do with the broken pieces. The design features of the bed are really cool, and for the most part it went together well. That being said, the finish of the pieces is what I would consider to be so/so, and given the large investment of time to assemble, I would say makes this over priced. If it were 500/600 I would probably be giving it a 4 or 5 star rating. My fingers are crossed that it at least lasts a few years. Product is Ok for the price.

    Arrived sooner than expected!

I purchased this bed for my 11/year/old daughter. At first I was nervous reading through the reviews realizing most of the people purchase the bed for younger ages and then I read one review were a 21/year/old purchased it for herself and loved it. We were pleasantly surprised it arrives sooner than expected it came in three very heavy boxes. The reviews were very helpful because a lot of people said you should unpack it outside and carry it in piece by piece which is what I did I labeled everything box 1 put that in one corner box 2 and another and then box 3. I would say set aside the majority of your day to put it together and there are times where it requires two people. The instructions were simple to follow. so far my daughter loves sleeping in it she fits just perfectly. I can see where a boy or masculine girl may not like it because of the embellishments on the drawer pulls, which resemble rhinestones so of course my daughter loves it. We have not tried out the desk yet but it appears that it will be perfect for distant learning. A pleasant surprise to my daughter were the LED lights. Also the hidden compartment behind the armoire. Im 43 years old and I fit in there so thats pretty fun! We will see how it holds up over the next few years but I have to tell you the price we paid on versus ordering it from a furniture store, the same exact bed this is well worth the money Works great!
