Very sturdy. Purchased it several months ago. Its well made and very well finished. The blue is a little brighter blue than I was hoping for but it was no deal breaker.
I love the bed. It is perfect and worth the 500$. I was also about to not buy it because that is a lot of money but I do not regret it at all. The only bad thing is if you live in a hard to find place that doesnt show up on gps it will be hard for the delivery person to find it and you will probably have to talk them through how to get their on the phone. Or if you live in a small apartment complex like me. A huge semi delivers it. Worth it though!
Overall, it turns out to be a beautiful bed. However, they are multiple spots where the velvet is completely crushed down and its like it got wet and hot and is ruined. There was no way I could or would send this bed back for the two side bars that were really damaged. Ive tried to cover it with a quilt so you dont notice. The pieces should have been packed inside of plastic...my box appeared to have been wet or have some oil like substance around it. ALSO--A true king size mattress has a hard time fitting into the space they have alotted for a mattress. I have to keep the foot of my mattress a little higher as it wont fit all the way in the 1-2inch lip provided for the mattress to sit on.
The damages and lack of proper packing have made me lower my ratings.

Poor support
Its a beautiful bed, its very lightweight. However, the middle rail collapsed. I had to buy a platform to give it real support. Its perfect now.

Super easy to assemble, took maybe two hours. The first delivery the headboard was broken. Other than that, great investment.
No box spring is needed.
