For a bunk bed set this affordable I was anticipating the possibility of shoddy materials but this is a very handsome and sturdy bunk bed! Our kids LOVE it and our eldest now spends more time in the twins room because it's so fun for forts and playtime. The assembly (4 hrs is a good estimate) is pretty straightforward if you follow the instructions closely. (Our kit had the minimum of labeling but deductive reasoning made assembly fine - e.g. if A1 was labeled then I always knew the other unlabeled piece must be A2, etc.)
Also, our twins' bedroom ceiling is lower than most, so this was a good choice (this is a lower set than standard, so watch your measurements) - still ample room, for kids especially. I like it so much I am considering buying another one for a family summer cottage because it seems like it would last many years of use and adds bed space.
This bunk bed is solid and attractive. Assembly was not easy, but that should be excepted for such a large item. The only minor complaint: the stain used on the wood had a very strong odor for a few weeks. It has now dissipated, but seemed rather toxic at first.

The bed did come chipped in a few places, I'm assuming from the way it was shipped. However, already knowing it was going to be a bear to put together, it assembled pretty easily, all the screws were there and fit together perfectly. It's nice and sturdy and looks great! Love the color of the wood and even more important my son absolutely LOVES his new bunk bed!
Purchased this bed for my 4 year old twins and we use it as 2 twin beds. It's perfect height for them. It is well constructed and you can't beat the price which includes free shipping. Only problem I had was the shipping. Since it was so big, UPS had hard time with it and they damaged it. So sent another one through FedEx and the box was little torn but the product didn't have any damage.
Nice bed but if you are looking to separate the beds and use the top bed with railings for a toddler, this is not the bed for you as the ladder is attached to the entire side rail.

not able to separate and keep rails in place
Nice bed but if you are looking to separate the beds and use the top bed with railings for a toddler, this is not the bed for you as the ladder is attached to the entire side rail.
