Had to return my first unit as one of the hinges wouldnt hold as the wood behind it was cracked. The second unit was in better condition, but the lid was cockeyed and I was concerned the screws would split the as I tightened them. I personally wouldnt sit or stand on it; however Im a bigger guy.
With that said, its serving its purpose, but not quite the quality Id expect for 40. Not at all user friendly.
This is a very straight forward, no frills shoe bench. We have a habit of kicking off our shoes as soon as we walk in the door, and we have a lot of shoes. Based on the picture, youd think 4 people live here. Its just 2 of us. Im hoping this will help clear up some space, so we can walk in the door uninhibited. Whether or not we actually use it is another story entirely. But the bench itself is just what I wanted. Easy to assemble, cute, and not too bulky. Must buy.

My daughter loves this replacement for a broken shoe shelf. Very stylish, can be used many ways! Working well.
