Ive bought and assembled a lot of flat pack furniture in my lifetime. Most of it has not been sturdy or used decent quality material as I would have hoped. This bed has been a very good purchase and we are very happy with all aspects. The bed parts are well made and the fit and finish are above average. The instructions were easy to follow. Once assembled the bed is very sturdy. Our only complaint was the short screws that attached the desk rails to the underside of the bed frame. They were way too short so there was barely 1/8 of screw engagement. The weight of the desk pulled the screws out. I got some T/nuts and longer bolts. Now the desk rails are fully supported against both gravity and downward pressure on the desk. If we ever needed another loft bed this would be the only one we would buy! Super.
My son really wanted a loft bed and after looking around we found this one and thought it looked good and would hopefully be better built than some of the other beds we could get at the usual places that have flat/packed furniture. From the quality perspective, certainly not. The bed itself is of OK quality, but the chest of drawers, the desk, the desk wheels, etc are low quality, built from simple butt/joints and screws that will certainly break over time.
In a world where we want low/voc finishes and products, this is the opposite. Out of the box is smelled like a chemical factory and it wasnt fleeting, but even with windows open in the room lingered for over 2 weeks. Im not sure how a company who is selling childrens furniture can in good conscious market something that smells like this and has a formaldehyde label on it.
Bought this as an early Christmas present for my 11yr old. She has always wanted a bunk bed but we are very limited in space. The shelves serve more as a catch all (she has far too many books for it). The desk is used all day, everyday. While I would love to have her push it in when its not in use, it doesnt seem to ever not be used lol. The drawers could be a bit larger. She doesnt have many clothes but the ones she wears dont all fit. At 11yrs the ladder seems to be more of a recommendation than a requirement. She is lanky as all get out and uses one rung just to get high enough to over the banister. She keeps a tent on it as well so the banister cutout is blocked for the most part. How she doesnt break something getting up in the middle of the night, Ill never know. The underside serves as a wonderful storage area for her tubs of art supplies too. Overall, shes incredibly pleased with this purchase! easy assemble, exactly as expected, space saver.
So far it is sturdy but a little creaky. Only had for few months so we will see the wear and tear not too difficult to assemble. The only thing is the color is more brown than espresso. Looks solid, easy to assemble.
/ The manufacturer pointed the finger at the seller and the seller basically said not my problem you waited too long. Apparently, Im being punished for buying them too far in advance.
/ The beds will have to be pieced together using makeshift parts from the local hardware store.
/ Either way, I do not recommend this manufacturer (cant include the required parts) or this seller (wont provide customer service).
It did take me all day to put it together because there are so many pieces but it all worked out and is a very nice bed. The only thing do far that isnt great are the knobs on the dresser / theyve already come off but thats an easy fix by going to Lowes and getting some new ones. Perfect!!
This bed is very sturdy, easy to assemble, has a great blue color, and is highly functional with the shelves, desk, and drawers. Highly recommend it! Works great!!
The bed looks good and sturdy. Our daughter loves it. The assembly was also smooth. Just one feedback / In one of the units (I think it was the book shelf) the label on the parts was incorrect. There was no paper label inside the plastic with the label and the label on the plastic itself was incorrect. However, it was easy to guess using the picture in the map and the count of parts. So, nothing worrisome. I will update the review later as time progresses, if need be. Very Sturdy product.
