This is a very nice loft bed. It was easy to assemble but needs two people. The wood is good and have no concerns of it falling apart or collapsing. I was looking for something that would hold an adult and child. This was it with a 400 lb limit. It eases my mind that it wont come crashing down if we climbed up with our kid. It does shake a little when you move while on it but is expected with a loft bed as its not anchored to the wall nor does it need to be. The shelves are nice and provides added storage. You can put the shelves and ladder on either side but you have to decide that when youre building it. We have the ladder on the left and the shelves on the right. You can put the ladder and shelves on the same side if you wanted it that way. We initially bought a twin mattress that was too thick. We ended up returning and getting an 8 mattress. I would not recommend anything more than 8. Overall, we are happy with the purchase. Very sturdy.
Maybe if the screws were labeled somehow for a smoother build and watch out for the stickers be accidentally put on incorrect parts but overall its worth it. Cool!!
It took me about 3 hours to put together. The bed frame came shipped with very li damage. However it did come in one very heavy box. Wish it was in two boxes (Im sure the UPS driver would appreciate too). Every wooden piece was identified with a number, so it wasnt that difficult to figure out what went where. Just make sure you give yourself time to put together without distractions.
I do wish the ladder was a bit wider, the bed is for a 13 year old boy, and while he is not tall, he is of normal width. Bed should hold up to his use until he gets tired of it, or moves out for college, which ever is first. Still love it.
Everything came in two shipments—both earlier than I expected—a week earlier.
Everything was well made, and labeled. It took my dad and me about 2/3 hours to put it together, and that included us putting one whole section together backwards and then redoing it.
My son absolutely LOVED his surprise. It was perfect!
This is a great way to make use of a tiny room. The storage space underneath is great! The bed itself is sturdy enough for an adult.
The only cons I have to report were:
1. the instructions were a little unclear. They are all pictures, no words, which is handy for people who speak and read different languages, but it would have been really good to have a little bit of explanation on a couple of the steps. However, I managed it all by myself over a couple of evenings.
2. The ladder and ladder/opening are pretty narrow. If you are an adult with hips, it is a tight squeeze.
But overall, I am very happy with how this turned out and it turned a tiny room into a really useful space. Better directions.
Thoroughly pleased! My baby boy 5, loves his new big boy bed. The bed came in two boxes, one long one around 150lbs and a box for the desk, around 30lbs. I purchased the Clay.
I have been in search of a suitable bed for my child for a few months and I choose this bed for a few reasons
1.Solid wood, most of the contenders were not solid and had particle board, I considered the DONCO Kids Low Study Loft Bed, Dark Cappuccino for reference
2.Weight limit, this has a 400 lb weight limit that he can grow into and I dont have to worry about it breaking down
3.No Proposition 65 Warning
4.Neutral color, he has a dark wood chest of drawers and this fit in with existing decor
5.Desk storage included as he has a small room
It took two days for install, started on Sunday afternoon at 30pm, finished at 9pm, had whole bed installed except for desk. I took wine breaks lol. Desk installed next day and took 20 minutes. Only needed help to connect side rails, everything else I was able to do on my own because I am a beast at all things. All hardware/wood was accounted for before install and that took some time as well. Instructions (44pages) are visual only and very simple to understand. I only encountered two issues. Item 1A bookcase, I had to swap pieces 1920 as they were backwards. And I was not able to add one of the corner screws for the desk, hole mismatch possibly, did not want to force it and damage anything, left it be. Pretty sturdy. Due to it being in a temporary location until we move, I did not secure all of the wood slats on the bed frame, just the middle and more than secure. I also skipped the corner bracket install for the desk, its pretty solid and can do without. I opted for a 8inch mattress but it think you could probably get away with a 10inch. Also there was a light order from the wood/paint, it has dissipated in the past 24hours. No real damage to the wood, just a nick on one of the shelves and one side of the desk was slightly discolored.
Overall worth the 540, going to put a sheet over front so he can still have a little secret cave to play but this is a great buy. I would suggest this bed. I was pretty hesitant to buy as it had not reviews but here you go. Very nice.
My teenager outgrew their twin loft bed from and finding a full size shorter loft was not easy. My husband and teen put it together in an hour or so, with the most difficulty coming from holes not lining up in all the right places. They have been using it for a week or so now and it seems to be working fine for them. Would definitely buy again.
Came with slats that didnt even fit they were too short to screw in. One piece of wood split when I put the screw in it. Kind of disappointing . Easy to assemble. Very sturdy.

Sturdy, space/saving
