This is a very well built and solid bunk bed. We were also contemplating the Ikea Mydal but were not impressed with the woliness and thin boards of the display model nor its inability to breakdown into two separate twins. Difficult to buy a bed sight unseen but without many other choices for affordable bunks with a minimalist design we have been very happy with how well these beds look and how solid the beds feel even with a 5 and 3 year old jumping on them daily.
Decent bed for the price. Made in Vietnam so there are some blemishes here and there. And the assembly instructions, while clear, are diagram only and should be reviewed carefully as not to put parts backwards, etc. Takes a healthy amount of time to assemble as well.
The only real con I see is that the mattress slats are 1 or 2 shy from seemingly really sturdy and I may add a few. Where as Ikea would put 11 or 12 down, this bed only does 7 so less/rigid foam mattresses seem to bow through the open areas a tiny bit. Does not seem dangerous, they just did the minimal. But its not a 1200 bed.
Really happy with these. They are incredibly sturdy, we didnt run into any of the smell issues with the wood posted here, and are generally of good quality, particularly for the price. I would say, however, to pay close attention to the mattress size. Options are really limited for the thickness recommended, so we went with a thicker one and put a kid guardrail on the top bunk for safety. Having the thicker mattress on the bottom bunk mean my 4/year/old barely clears his head while sitting up. But again, cant state enough how happy I am with these.
Girls love this bed. Took me a little over 1.5 hours to put together on my own. It smelled slightly but as to be expected with furniture that is painted like this.
Very solid. Looks great. Here are my quiles. Still 5 star but 1 Rail had 2 big gouges on it due to the way it was packaged. Not a problem at this price. I am just going to keep it as/is. Others have mentioned the label stickers.there is an absolute need to keep them on or assembly would be VERY hard. That said, they should provide something that will take them off without also taking of the finish. My fingernail scraped off finish in a couple places. Overall. A great value.
They arent perfect (a few scratches and other imperfections here and there), but they are sturdy. Assembly takes a little time and effort but everything fit as it should and there were no missing parts.
Overall, consider these to be quite satisfactory and a good value.
We were very hesitant buying a bunk bed online. But we could not find anything locally that we really liked. We looked at a lot of bunk beds even high end ones that were priced over 1000. And this one still seems a nicer quality than most.
It was very easy to assemble the only hassle is to remove the little stickers that identify the boards. Its sturdy enough even for adults.
Overall we just love this bunk bed and its exactly what we were looking for.
The bed was good but there was never a full comfort level of putting our kids in the bunk bed. Putting it together wasnt difficult, but you get what you pay for. We still use the bed but separated not as a bunk any longer. The bed is solid when separated but in use as a bunk I would go with something more expensive for piece of mind.
Its pretty solid but I gave it a four because some of screws for the ladder and a few wooden pegs were missing probably due to poor packaging or poor handling. Instructions arent difficult in my opinion. However, they are only pictures, for those of us that do like to read instructions. I will say this though, if you have stairs that wrap around.be sure to set up the beds INSIDE the room that you want them in. Probably wasnt the smartest move on my part to put em together downstairs in my living room then try to manuever them upstairs but I dont anyone else to make the same mistake. I had to practically disassemble both beds and build them back up in the room where I wanted them.nightmare

Other 4 and 5 star reviews are correct.

Good but never had peace of mind in terms of safety
