The height makes it easy to stand up from.

We love the height and sturdiness.

Suggestions for assembly, cause its not very easy

After reading other reviews about difficulties with assembly, here are some suggestions: ? have a mouse pad with rubber back for gripping the dowels while turning the Allen wrench; ? have thick work gloves, oven mitt, or layers of cloth fo holding the Allen wrench unless you already have thick, tough calluses; ? when starting screws into the dowels, align them straight into the dowel, not at a 90 degree angle to the square legs; ? the screws go into the underside of the seat without too much trouble, but; ? the screws into the dowels fight you a lot. Get somebody to hold stuff together while you turn the Allen wrench or the dowels or hold the stool upside down with your feet; ? tighten the four screws gradually, taking turns on each leg. Yes, they do have to go in further and further—all the way until the dowels do not slide the least bit in the holes. If you dont, the stool will over time jiggle these joints loose and youll fall on your butt. If you decide to hold the Allen wrench with a lock wrench, be careful to hold it in straight so that you dont strip the tool or the hole. I hope these suggestions ease the job for you.

    Great for it's price!

It was a little bit difficult to assemble but nothing impossible. The end result is a sturdy and nice stool!

These are not just another bar stool

I have found in the past bar stools for about $12, but they were put together cheaply using wood that was inferior and shabby workmanship. These are solid oak and built to last. Everything went together easily with just a screwdriver. The screws were recessed and covered with wood plugs that topped the looks and made them look superior. I used them for plant stands in front of a 4 ft. By 6 ft. Picture window and look and work great..........Jerome

Very difficult and annoying to assemble

Very difficult to assemble and in the end I was unable to even complete it successfully so I gave up

    Good for price

Needed these for my newly renovated kitchen. I am very pleased with how they look. I have the top two complaints most also had: the wrench and the plugs. Screws are too fat to be using that tool by hand so I used the power tool instead. Worked well. Grip the leg spacers tight while you screw. And the plugs? Confused why they keep popping out lol BUT for the price I dont care and I love my new stools. -the wife.

    Horrible to assemble

Impossible to assemble. Had to use construction screws and the not the screws provided. Still not sure how this will hold up over the long term.

    Nice.

It's not difficult to assemble. However there are small rounded inserts to cover the screws that don't fit well at all. I had to glue them. Apart from that it's absolutely worth it the price. I will probably order another one for my kitchen
