This console was as nice as I had hoped it would be. What was impressive was how well it came in terms of shipping. Weve ordered similar furniture items from both Target and Walmart and the condition of the packaging was horrible. In Targets case, parts were missing because the box was in such shambles. As far as assembly, this isnt an easy assemble. There are a lot of pieces and it will help to have an electric screwdriver and a large carpeted area where you can lay things on. But the instructions were good enough to get me through. Not the best, but just good enough to get me through unscathed. Once it was assembled, it looked very nice! Would highly recommend.
This is a really cool entertainment center, but I have a few problems with it:
First, it arrive damaged; to me that was not deal breaker, but paying good money for an item with damage always rubs the wrong way. I removed the damaged spot (on one of the four legs; its made from layers of thick cardboard/like material) and kind of made it lie as flush with the outside as possible. I then used a couple of the wood/looking stickers that go with the stud lock screws.
Second, some of the pieces dont fit that nicely. This is also a minor thing for me.
Finally, the assembly will take longer than a buyer might think. Specifically the instructions suggest that wood glue should be used on the wooden dowels of which there are several on nearly every piece. Seriously, it took me at least 20 minutes gluing and wiping away excess glue. I went step by step as the instructions indicated. I would recommend to a buyer that they find the dowels and wood glue (included, which is nice) within the packaging and take each piece and glue the dowels into their holes before assembly. Also, the screws for the magnetic strip that holds the doors shut were NOT pre/drilled, and the screws the instructions said were for that part were impossible for me to screw directly into the wood using only a screw driver. I used a drill with a 5/64 drill bit and drilled into the wood about a half inch and forced the screw the rest of the way.
Overall I think I spent 2.5/3 hours total assembling it.
I really like the look of it, and most of the minor blemishes (more than those I mentioned) are not that bad to me. Its going in a room that is not that well lit so unless someone wants to go over it with a fine tooth comb, itll work. Hopefully yours comes in better condition and that this review saves you some time.
I love how it looks but putting it together was not fun. It is not sturdy at all and the lock things do not hold. There was no holes in the doors to put the screws in to hold the hinges and when you used a drill, the screws broke. Definitely not worth the money but looks good if you keep it in one spot
Ive done a lot of furniture assembly lately this is the best value, sturdiest piece I have purchased.
I also think it looks great.
I highly recommend this TV stand.
Easy to assemble, easy instructions, good packaging.
CONS: some screws are really bad. Two of them BROKE during assemble (two small ones on the front doors), and I cant place another one on top without using a drill (which I wont).
The unit is very nice and looks good but the doors dont line up evenly around edge of cabinet openings. I even switched the doors from side to side but no difference.
Very durable and GREAT quality. Does require assembly but instructions are very clear.
This TV stand will last years. I am very pleased. If youre looking for a sign to buy it, here it is!
My 65 inch TV fits perfectly. Unit is nicely designed. There are plenty of enough holes to snake your wires through. Right amount of shelf space. Only complaint is that the doors feel slightly flimsy cheap. Other than that no complaints. Took two of us to assemble which made the job easier. Instructions are clear.
