The product is good for the value. The bed and adjacent stairs are very sturdy. The bottom of the drawer is the flimsiest of the product and is not built on a track (which is actually a positive; less assembling, and one less thing that can malfunction later). The instructions are average at best. Towards the end and especially with drawer assembly, you must heavily rely on the pictures. One opportunity for improvement for the company is to include adhesive non-skid strips for the stairs and to indicate direction of parts (i.e. facing stairs, or facing outward vs inward) either on the piece or in the directions. Also, avoid printing on the pieces, only on the wooden ends, as with most of the parts. Another good idea would be to provide backing similar to the under stair storage, to go under the top bunk to cover the rails/rungs. A sturdier drawer bottom would be better. Overall, very happy with the product! Pro tip: This project is exorbitantly easier to assemble with a drill! I could not imagine doing without. Invest in one, if you can!
The bunk bed looks exactly like the product pictures once it is put together. It arrives in 2 boxes...mine arrived 3 days apart. The boxes were completely beat up, but the bed is well-protected on the inside. There are no words on the assembly instructions, just diagrams! So take a deep breath and look at the pictures carefully. All of the parts are labelled and it comes with 2 wrenches. It will take 2 people to assemble. It took me and a friend about 3 hours. The whole bedroom was needed for space for assembly. It was fairly straight forward. An 8 inch mattress fit on top very well. My kids have not yet tested it out, but it seems quiet and sturdy. The ladder can only be positioned in the one spot. Having an extra flat head screwdriver will help with the anchors when placing screws.
Addendum: 8 months later: My kids love the bunk beds. So far they seem very sturdy. The 60-pounder sleeps on top, the 30-pounder on the bottom. We use the trundle for extra storage for now. Changing the sheets on the top bunk is a drag for parents, but not bad for kids. There's not much headroom between bottom bunk and top, but strips of cushioned furniture protectors or pool noodles may work to pad the open wood. Overall, we still love the bunk beds and highly recommend.
The stairs have already detached from the bed and the screw was striped, the bed rails have broken with very little force. We have only had this bed for maybe 3 months.

Okay but broken piece
We like the bed for our girls but this one piece came in already broken.

Me and my husband put it together and its such an amazing bunk bed! We love it and our 2 boys love it! Great quality!
Pay for the assembly! You will definitely regret it if you dont.
Putting this thing together was rocket science, other than that its a great product.
Pleased with my purchase!

Overall very nice. Just a little expensive. [I got $3 to write this review]
Cheaply made
