Only real downsides are that your nightstands end up far away from you so if you have a drink or something it is hard to get at, and the mattress likes to slide from side to side so we end up with a gap...thus my 1 1/2 yr olds new favorite place to hangout. The mattresses themselves are 14 inch memory foam and the legs are like 12 inches or something like that so the bed is pretty tall for me at 5 1 but my husband at 6 has no issues. I guess you can order shorter legs but that was not an option on . As for pain relief...1000% better. I had spinal fusion surgery in 2019 and my back hurts a lot at times, with this bed I am able to get into a comfortable position. Even with the ankle surgery I just had, when I am walking around and it gets sore I just lay down and for the most part I can get the pain to stop. I think I have taken 1 pain pill most days and mostly that is when I have been up too long. My husband likes that he can put the head up and watch tv from bed. He put the 4 inch memory foam mattress topper we had on his side of the bed and he said the mattress almost feels as soft as the one he paid $2500 for back in the day. Softness has been a big issue for us, he is like the damn princess and the pea and needs a million soft layers. I like a soft but firm mattress ya know one I can get out of, and this one was perfect for me! The split king is nice because we can customize each side to our comfort level. The set up was super easy, and I think he said the bases were about 100, maybe 150 lbs each, and the mattresses were 79 lbs each. It took about 2 weeks to get them delivered. We put the new bases down inside of the base we had so they are solid, but I feel like the regular bases may be a little on the rocking side since the legs are not right at the edge. All in all I LOVE it!
I love the adjustable bed , having COPD and proping up on multiple pillows piled up for years, it has been quite nice to be able to adjust to be able to breathe better. It has also been nice to raise my foot end to relieve the swelling in my ankles. Bed motor and raising process is very quiet. My-in-law put together for me and said it was very easy. I am most impressed and quite happy with my bed, I consider it to be a good investment for my sleeping and my health.
Weve had this base for a couple of months now and have the highest praises for you guys!! No more nights in the recliner - unless we just want to! We are sleeping like babes now. - JJ
This is the best thing i have ever gotten. I am disabled from my back and i tried all kinds of mattresses and pillow toppers. I decided to try this adjustable bed..it was easy to assemble but it was quite heavy i had my sister and niece help me set it up..it works like a charm the remote works good and is also wireless. I topped off my bed with a 12 lucid memory foam mattress and its the best thing i have ever done!
I purchase the king sized adjustable bed frame. Do not under estimate the amount of effort involved in getting this thing in place. It weighs in at about 200 pounds. I decided the only way I was going to get it up the stairs and into the bedroom was to remove the two bolts at the center hinge point - essentially splitting it in half. If you are going to do that use extreme care. Take a photo of the bolt and nylon washer configuration so that you assemble it exactly as it is from the factory, also you will need to disconnect one wire. Once assembled and in place, it feels very solid. No noise, squeaking, or creaking while moving around on the bed. The motors are very quiet. The legs on the king are 12 and are not in sections. Plenty of space under the bed for storage. We put ours right inside our existing bed frame, so we still have a headboard and footboard, but now the side rails are exposed so it looks a little odd. Not sure what we will be doing about that yet.
