My wife and I had it out of the box and set/up very quickly. The most tedious part was removing all the packing material from it, but I know packed it that way to avoid any damage. So far, we appreciate the shade it provides, and the controls handles are surprisingly easy to use. It also looks great in our backyard.
Such a great umbrella and very pleased with the functionality of it. Its large and provides shade for a big area. Absolutely love the fact that its so versatile. You definitely need a base but we used pavers and put our herb plants on the pavers. Worth every penny.
EDIT: The company refunded my money and allowed me to keep the umbrella. This company will do what it takes to make it right for the customer. I will highly recommend them.
For the price of this umbrella, it should have come with a weighted base. Telling the consumer to bolt it down to a deck isnt an option, again for the price, a weighted base should have been included.
reviewed my original post so I am posting again. The product arrived broken and the welds on the base had the support bar hanging over the edge of the base mount. The box did not look damaged so this looks like it is a quality control issue. Based on my experience this is a cheap product that has a premium price. STAY AWAY
This is MUCH heavier and more stable that one I had ordered and returned prior to getting this one. I literally just set it up with 18 mph winds and its very stable and has no problem staying where I put it. I couldnt be happier with this umbrella!! Im really considering a second one for the opposite side of my pool area.

I had to contact customer service with a question and they were quick to respond and surprisingly accommodating. I cant think of one thing about this product that isnt 5 stars.
Received product very quickly after getting a great deal on Prime Day. Well packed with no damage. Jsut set it up so Ill update review if any issues present themselves later. After researching these products extensively, I decided on this model based on how structurally strong it appeared, and after receiving it, this seemed to be confirmed. No other models in this price range seemed to have this kind of quality. Features I particularly like about this model are:
1. Oval pole for added stability. The pole also has notches every inch or so to secure handle at desired height rather than rely on a less secure friction device. Handle is very easy to raise and lower.
2. Beefed up cranking mechanism to raise and lower umbrella. This is most likely point of failure for any umbrella, so this gives me a bit more comfort that this one is built to last.
3. Second crank to rotate the umbrella. As the sun moves I will need to rotate umbrella to keep patio table completely in shade. Having the crank makes this much easier.
4. I mounted included base directly to my deck so I appreciated that base weights we sold separately so I didnt have to pay for something I didnt need.
5. Product came with offer for free extra canopy fabric. If this comes as a complete canopy, this is a great deal, as these will invariably fade over time no matter how good the fabric is.
Areas for improvement are:
1. No LED lights. This is becoming an inexpensive feature that should become standard in future model updates.
2. Slight rotation of pole in breezy conditions. Perhaps this is due to rotation option above so its a small sacrifice to make for that option.

I put this by my pool, I added an in ground base to hold it and this has been a great product. I would buy again
