The instructions were easy to follow, and assembly was cake. The wood color is even more beautiful in person, and fits my king bed perfectly. Great addition to our bedroom!
I was pleasantly surprised by how nice the wood is and how strong the whole thing got once I tightened all the screws. You have to use the little ratchet they give you to really tighten the heck out of all the screws. That's what gives this type of design it's strength. Tighten until you feel like you're about to break it and you can see the wood joint close up really tight. That's how you know you done good.
This is the fourth platform bed that we have purchased over the years and it is by far the best! You cannot go wrong with this one! It is overbuilt in terms of sturdiness and durability! Very easy to assemble only took about thirty minutes and we were ready for the mattress. Frame finish is excellent!
The slats were too far apart for our mattress which we discovered after the bed was assembled and the mattress delivered. We asked for extra slats which was declined. told us we could return the bed if we were dissatisfied with all the original packing. We ended up buying an extra bunkie board to fit on top. We tried to buy extra slats but the thickness is not standard.
I knew that for the price point of under $200 the rails weren't going to have an Ethan-Allen-quality finish, but the grain of the rails in the online photo appears to be much cleaner than the rough, barely-finished knotty boards that I received (see first photo). I called the manufacturer, and they said I could return them to for replacement, but I knew in reality it was unlikely that a second set would be any better. So I decided to put my rookie wood-staining talents to work. Lots of sanding and three coats of stain later, I'm happy with the results (second and third photos).
That being said, the kit itself was great. Instructions were easy to follow, the pre-drilled holes for the bolts were in the right places, all the parts were included, and everything fit.
I would have given it five stars if the rails were made from more select wood, as the online photo showed.

Super sturdy solid wood frame

Great value for money, extremely easy to assemble
Extremely easy to assemble. Worst part for me was breaking down the cardboard boxes.
Fantastic buy!

Wood Planks
I liked how sturdy it was, u read some reviews about the wood planks being flimsy but the ones I received were very sturdy.
Slats are 3.5 apart and less than 1/2 thick.

Great bee
Much nicer than anticipated for the price. My son put it together himself and it has been working great.
If you like rustic knotty pine, you'll be happy.
