This cabinet looks sturdy and of good quality. All the pieces seem pretty solid, but when I got to the back of it, I was disappointed. The back consists of two cardboardy like pieces that slide into a groove and could easily be busted out if anything is shoved against them. The unit was packed very well but I still found a couple of small defects - corner edges where the white paint was chipped. But they are hardly noticeable and not worth messing with sending it back. I would be very happy with this cabinet except for the problem I had with assembling it. There are no written instructions - only pictures. Each piece is clearly labeled and all you have to do is look at the pictures and follow them in order. My problem is with the way the top of the cabinet attaches to the sides. I cant get a secure fit and these weird twist-locking screws keeping falling out. You cant pick the cabinet up by the top or it will just come off. Other than the cheap back panel and the assembly problem, its a cute, sturdy, cabinet, and a good value for the price.
I had no trouble putting the thing together. I would say there was a little bit of tweaking when it came to the doors because the doors were rubbing against the bottom part of the shelf. I had to re assemble a few times before I got it perfect.
Overall the parts are made in china and had a squeak to it. Also the table itself is a bit wobbly and I did take the time and effort to step through and assemble the product properly. I think the product itself looks good but the parts are cheap.
As I was assembling this product, I noticed that there were dings in the wood and paint was chipped off. I contacted the seller for additional parts but never received a reply. I was going to ask for touch up paint. It was easy to assemble and does look good despite the chipped paint and dings. I guess you get what you pay for.
This is a nice cabinet for the bathroom. My husband put it together in about 45 minutes. The dowels that came with the unit are a little small for the holes, so he slathered wood glue in the dowel holes to make them more stable. (Hes a wood-worker, so he knows these tricks). The unit had no manufacturing or paint odor at all. For the price of the unit, it is very nice. The backing is not wood, but particle wood-fiber board material - but that is fine - it is against the wall and not seen. Besides, who wants to cram the unit so full of stuff that it is bursting from the seams? The unit came with a small strap to secure it to the wall - but this is not needed, it is very stable. Overall - it is a good buy.
Even after all the reviews, I decided to take a chance on this shelving unit. I thought...how difficult could it be?
Ive put together A LOT of this type of furniture and when this arrived, it was no different. For a first timer, maybe I could see how it would be hard to understand the directions. But I thought it was very easy to put together....my 9 year-old helped me.
When it was finished I did notice a couple of small defects. Theres a small scrape or something on the front at the top that shows the bare wood underneath. Since its just under the lip of the top, I wasnt too concerned - you have to be sitting right in front of it at eye level to see it. The most noticable thing is that the doors arent aligned. The right side rubs at the top and the left side rubs at the bottom which creates a gap between the doors. Again, nothing major, but I had my handy husband realign the hinges.
All in all, a good deal on a shelving unit. I dont know how long it will last - since most things made these days dont last very long anyway. I wouldnt recommend putting something really heavy on it, like a TV - only because I dont know how sturdy it is. We have it in our bathroom.

Not perfect, but not bad either...

Serves its purpose
